I think it's a good choice to have two kittens. It's not only much nice for them, but also for you. I have two brothers (now 10 months old) and I still enjoy them playing and washing together every day.

Brilliant. I love that you've chosen to go for 2 kittens. Normally we strongly advise everybody to go for 2 kittens directly but because when you get them from a reputable breeder, they are kept a few weeks longer in the nest for good socialisation, and the purchase price of 2 is higher, we don't "push" it that much. But it's always good to hear when someone still decides to go for 2. It's so much (so very much) better for the kittens themselves.

I don't have coons, I have Singapura's (a lot smaller then Maine coons ). I'm sure you made the right descision.
For me it was also a long time ago since I had cats. The previous ones died almost fifteen years ago. Things changed a lot in those fifteen years. But read a lot before the boys arrived, and so do you. Here you found many people with tons of experience, so everything will be allright in the end.

There is still some time to prepare - kittens are quite small and come to us in the end of October when they be about 15 weeks old.

How exciting! My boyfriend and I were doubting between main coons and norwegian forest cats. Eventually we chose the norwegians. We are going to check out a cattery on the 2nd of september and if all goes well, we will have two little kitten brothers walking at our place in October as well.

I love maine coons They are so beautiful. Good luck and lots of fun with the preparations for little Sam and Mercy

Good luck with you cattery visits , personally I'd suggest you to visit a few catteries to have possibility to compare.

Thank you for the suggestion Peter. We already looked at a few places. Just for orientation about the breed and breeders. We have not visited this one yet, but we receive updates on the kittens very often, read good reviews about them and know all the papers are valid. But ofcourse we still keep in mind that it might not work out. Lets see.
